He was born in Dunkirk, NY on May 13, 1936, son of the late William and Mary (Lajewski) Zawicki. Bill attended Forestville High School (Forestville, NY) and is a graduate of Cornell University (Ithaca, NY). A member of the class of 1957, he studied pomology and entomology, was a brother in the Alpha Gamma Rho fraternity and was enrolled in ROTC.
